About Matt

Matt Nichols is a Los Angeles-based human performance coach. He believes that forging a meaningful connection is fundamental to his clients’ success. Matt’s superpower as a coach is his ability to listen – truly listen – to his clients to understand their concerns and then to apply his unique problem-solving skills (honed in a 15-year career as an attorney) to those concerns.

Additionally, Matt has studied healing breathwork and two-stage pranayama with David Elliot, completed Mark Visser’s Ocean Warrior course, and studied and practiced the Wim Hof Method. 

Currently, Matt is a coach and general manager of Oak Park – The Home of CrossFit Los Angeles, where he coaches group classes, and trains individuals and small groups virtually and in person at our facility. He regularly leads corporate wellness workshops and group experiences that focus on using mindful breathing, extreme heat and cold exposure, and mental skills coaching to bring out the best in human performance. Additionally, Matt volunteers to advance breathwork research and programs for the non-profit organization, Health and Human Performance Foundation.
